In the field of the hotel and catering industry, which is currently one of the largest sectors in Hungary struggling with a shortage of labor. In the pre-Covid period many people worked in Thai tourism: receptionists, maids, cleaners. They have learned and known the expectations of high-quality hotels and restaurants. Thai chefs, cooks, and kitchen assistants will stand their ground in all positions.
In factories and assembly plants. Thai trained workers represent a reliable and precise workforce, so they are happy to be employed worldwide alongside the production lines of larger plants. We also focus on this area and can provide a larger number of applicants.
Maintenance, cleaning and laundry companies are also happy to employ Thai workers because they are thorough and very flexible in their working hours.
ARE THERE LANGUAGE DIFFICULTIES?
There are. But most Thai workers have a certain level of basic knowledge of English, and the majority of those working in hotel tourism in their home country speak English. Of course, it is possible to determine the level of English required for the job, when assessing the needs. Work & Smile will also provide interpretation if required during and after the selection process.
HOW DOES THE RECRUITMENT OFFER WORK?
Contact Work & Smile for a preliminary consultation. After an accurate assessment of your needs, we will send you our framework contract. After concluding the framework contract and determining the required labor, we will start the selection process and send a CV of each potential employee.
Concluding the selection, we start the process required for employment and follow it through to the when the new employees enter the job. The process takes approximately 3-4 months. Employees arrive with a fixed-term work permit and residence visa for a maximum of 2 years, which can be extended.
WHAT DOES OUR FEE INCLUDE AND HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
Our fee includes the search and pre-screening of Thai employees to meet your company’s workforce needs. This will be done by our partners in Thailand. Then we will introduce potential employees so that you will only meet the most suitable persons.
The fee also includes the legal process related to their immigration and employment after selection, participation in the determination of employment conditions, the adoption of a preliminary employment contract, supervision of the visa administration of employees.
We help employees to prepare for working in Hungary and for their everyday life here. This starts in Thailand before the worker arrives.
All the costs may seem high at first, but if we divide that by 24 months, we get an acceptable extra cost that pays off a lot when hiring a Thai workforce, as their willingness to work, loyalty, workload, positive attitude, and adaptability make them one of the most ideal workforce.
HOW LONG IS THE TIME FROM THE SELECTION OF AN EMPLOYEE TO THE START OF THEIR JOB?
It usually takes 3-4 months to submit the appropriate papers and finish the assessement.
WHY DOES THE PROCEDURE TAKE MONTHS?
Work & Smile is tied to the procedure for applying for a residence permit (work permit) in Hungary, even when using the fastest service routes.
How do Thai workers feel when they travel to work with you?
The applicants express a strong desire to work outside of Thailand, and therefore submit requests at home for where and when they would like to work. Typically, they have to wait for 1-6 months until they find the most suitable place for them.
During this time, they continuously train themselves to acquire skills and knowledge that will set them apart from other applicants. The competition has already started, and their training is ongoing.
